UPCOMING EVENTS
On Thursday, July 2, 2020, Multicultural Affairs held its second Social Justice Forum:
Policing, Criminal Justice, and Race. Panelists discussed actionable items that they,
themselves, and their departments have done, are currently doing, and will be doing
to create equitable change and solutions to the criminal justice system. Panelists
were then available to answer any questions or comments asked by forum participants.
The event had over 98 people in attendance and 153 RSVPs. We would like to thank panelists
Mark Nataly, Chief of Police & Preparedness Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾, Baxter Smith,
Deputy Chief of Police & Preparedness Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾, Jeffrey Cardoza,
Chief of Police Fall River Police Department, Demetrice Philips, Sergent, Fitchburg
Police Department and Adjunct Faculty Member, Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾, Justin Caverio,
Director of Â鶹´«Ã½ÊÓƵÍøÕ¾'s Joseph A. Marshall Veteran's Center, and Kenton
Kirby, Director of Practice, Center for Court Innovation, New York, for participating
in the event.
